With numbers maintained at around 100 boys, classes contain no more than 12 pupils. Most classes enjoy the benefit of a dedicated Learning Support Assistant in addition to the subject specialist. The staff:pupil ratio is also high and there is great emphasis on supporting individual needs. Boarders and day boys enjoy a Monday to Friday working week. Boys who would not thrive in the hurly-burly environment of a bigger school, will flourish in the small, caring, highly supportive community of Slindon College. A wide and varied extra-curricular program encourages the pursuit of music, outdoor activities and sport. There are outstanding IT facilities, running SUCCESSMAKER the latest literacy, numeracy and Science Discovery software. This is tailored to meet the needs of boys receiving Learning Support – providing help with literacy and numeracy difficulties, such as dyslexia. Support is also provided for boys with ADD/ADHD and mild ASD. Further information:- Jenny Davies (Registrar) 01243 814320 |
