Pubs and Restaurants Pubs There were about 6 pubs and ale houses in Slindon at one time, but The Spur is the last one remaining. Popular with villagers and visitors alike, the handsome building is thought to date back to the 16th century but the main building is believed to have built in 1784. Now a thriving pub and restaurant, it also has a skittle alley. The pub gardens are much admired in summer, and its log fires much appreciated in winter. Situated on the A29, it is now the closest pub to the village centre.
