Slindon Roads Scheme: We now have a set of proposals!
Posted 24-05-11

You may know that road consultants Hamilton-Baillie have been working with the Parish Council, The National Trust and South Downs National Park Authority to develop proposals for our village roads – using a fresh approach to designing speed out of our roads and creating a strong and attractive sense of place.

We now have their report and proposals and the next steps are to consult interested bodies and the community, and then set about implementing the scheme (including finding sources of funds).

If you would like to see the report, all Parish Councillors have a copy – or alternatively you can download it – click here for the report.

If you have any comments about the report please contact John Brown (814719) or Mike Imms (814777) or speak to any of the Parish Councillors.

The Forge Project
Posted 16-05-11

We finally have confirmation of the registration of the constituted organisation to run the project – it will be an Industrial Provident Society, owned by Members – anyone from the village can join. The Society is based on a model constitution drawn up especially for community shops by the Plunkett Foundation, and has been approved by the Financial Services Authority. Thanks to Mark Spofforth for steering us through this.

Details of the Society and other ways to support the project are explained in full on http://slindonforge.co.uk.

Community Police Officer Re-organisation
Posted 08-02-12

As you may know, Sussex Police have re-organised the Community Support Officers again and Slindon now falls within the beat of PCSO Neil Billingham.

He is based at Littlehampton Police Station with a team of PCSO’s. Neil spoke at the recent Neighbourhood Watch meeting.

REMEMBER that the first call in any situation should be situation should be 999 for emergencies/crime in progress or 101 for non-emergencies.

You can contact Neil Billingham directly but remember he may be on leave or on a rest day and may not pick up your message immediately so always report incidents first through the above channels.

Mobile 07775 406785. This has an automatic forward to the non-emergency number if I am unable to answer.
